Manvel HS falls in state semi-finals
Manvel High School football team did not show up for this playoffs game against Fort Bend Marshall today at Alvin ISD’s Freedom Field. On the very first play of the game the hundreds of local supporters in the attendance witnessed a team a lack of readiness for this important date. A false start penalty committed by the offensive line set the tone for the rest of the game. The Manvel defense could not contain the Buffalos’ explosive offense led by quarterback Malik Hornsby (1) and wide receiver Brandon Tryon (10). They both combined for 417 and 146 yards respectively. All everyone could noticed was no 1 and 10 with the white and yellow jerseys on the field.
Manvel’s quarterback Tucker Yarbrough did not finish the game as he injured his right elbow while being sacked in the fourth quarter. Manvel HS finishes the season 13-1 and were two games away from the state championship game. They last represented the local high school at the state level in 2017 which everyone who watched it will remember it as a game for the ages.
