Sad Scene In Alvin As Fire Destroys A Family’s Home.

A fire completely destroys a mobile home on County Road 144 in Alvin, just to the west of Manvel city limits, yesterday afternoon.  Several agencies were dispatched to this fire including CR 143 VFD, Alvin VFD, Pearland FD, Manvel VFD and Santa VFD for manpower and water.  The fire was reported at around 4 pm and the home was already fully involved when the fire department showed up.    This is obviously a total loss and a local family has lost everything.  To make matters worse, a child living at that address was being dropped off from the school bus as the fire was ravaging her home.  It is unclear if the family had insurance and what are the immediate needs to restart their life.  If we become aware of an effort to help the family, we will gladly share the information.
